Default Summer engine oil

Hi, I am from Burma where normal ambient temperature during summer range from 38-44 C (100-111 F). I drive a used 2017 Lexus NX200t F-Sport with 17000 miles which was imported from USA. Lexus recommend 0W-20 for engine oil but due to high ambient temperature, will I need a thicker grading of engine oil or just need to use 0W-20?

I just use the 0W-20 for our NX. Our summer temperatures are in the low 100’s. On another car that also is specked for 0W-20, I changed to 5W-30 with no issues. If 0W-30 is available there, it should work also.

This is my experience and not Lexus endorsed. I switched my NX (and Scion iM) to 5W-30 and I'm liking it so far, I do see a dip in my MPG but I'll take that for an engine that is slight quieter and oil temps that are more stable (according to the oil temps where the boost gauge screen is). It's also nice to use one oil for all three of my cars.

I would stick with a quality 0w-20 oil (Toyota, Mobil1, Amsoil, etc... all good quality) and avoid driving the car too hard to potentially thin out the oil. Also consider running a shorter OCI, 5k miles instead of 10k miles.
