Default Coolant keeps dropping

Not sure what's wrong with my NX. I refilled my coolant up to the full level when the cars cooled down. After about 2 months, the reseviour is pretty much completely empty. I'm not noticing any leaks anywhere and my car isn't acting any less normal than usual. Oil doesn't show any discolouration so I doubt it's a head gasket. Car is a 2015 NX200t with 75,000km on it.

I would guess a water pump leaking...typical problem on Toyota's.

There are leak testers you can buy that pressurize the system and you can watch for the pressure to drop on the gauge to see if it's actually leaking or not.

Just got back from my mechanic. It is in fact the water pump. I've booked an appointment with my dealership to have it replaced under the powertrain warranty.

Quite a few IS200ts/300s are also having water pump failures as well. (Same engine)

What are some signs of water pump failure other than coolant loss? I know bmws are known to consume coolant. That's not normal. The coolant system is sealed.

my mechanic was able to show me the water pump through the engine bay and showed me the dried up pink residue that was around the water pump pulley. It was leaking very slowly and basically drying up right away which is why I only had to top it up every month or two.

This isn’t my photo, but this is pretty much what it looks like:

I just replaced mine also. Well, the dealer did. It's pretty common.

I'm having the same issue where my coolant level keeps dropping. I cant find any sign of a leak around the water pump. Are there any other common issues that would result in coolant loss?

Head gasket, coolant is burned off in combustion chamber .

Exhaust will display more smoke with a slightly sweet smell to it.

head gasket is a possibility, but not common in these engines (unless overheated). Get underneath the car and look up towards the water pump. If you see any dried up pink coolant, then your water pump is weeping —these are a common leak point for these motors.
