Just put these on this weekend and there is quite a bit of high whinny noise when driving which I think are coming from the Toyo Observe GSi 5 tires....strange thing is that when braking the noise is also loud when coming to a stop which im not sure if its tires and or tires/rims?
Rims are also new to the setup which are Replika R224 direct fit so I dont think it should be the rims? also everything was torqued twice 76ft lbs
Any Suggestions? is it just the tires that are loud and this just normal? never heard these from my michelin xice3 winter tire setup on my q50 sedan
winter tires are quite a bit louder than all season or summer tires, I have bridgestone blizzak ws80 and they’re quite loud and steering feels quite light and loose, the michelin latitude x-ice xi2 are quiet and drive somewhat like an all season tire. I’ve never had a set of toyo winter tires but i’m pretty sure what you’re experiencing is normal.

thanks for the reply....so what i am experiencing even when braking is normal? I dont feel anything in the pedal but just seems like maybe resistance noise when stopping.
When im driving on the road the noise is just constant so I kind of just got use to it since yesterday.

the harder you brake the louder the noise gets, i’m not sure how to describe the sound, but it’s kind of like a growling noise. sort of like the sound of a bad wheel bearing

yes that exactly what mine sounds like! Ok so at least I know this is normal then ....I’ve always had Michelin’s so I just assumed all winter tires were that noise level, guess I learned something for my next set.

normal?
Can you confirm when turning at corner, the noise is even louder, more pronounced?
Just curious!
