As much as anything, CarFax has become nothing more than a marketing tool that helps dealers sell used cars by leading potential buyers to be confident in believing that cars have accident-free histories. In many cases, that confidence is misplaced.
Could not agree more, Carfax exist to make extra profit for dealers.
A kid ran a red light years ago and cause $ 30K in damage to my BMW, it showed up in Carfax 9 months later, sometimes it doesn't show up at all. Owners are finding ways to avoid Carfax and dealers will use multiple reporting companies on their cars until they find one that does not have the accident on it. Carfax, much like certified pre-owned have become a scam.

OP, check with a lawyer. i think it is illegal to not disclose a known accident when selling/trading in. Not very sure. If the insurance pays to fix it then fix it and use it as long as you were planning to use it if nothing had happened and then sell/trade in. Disclose accident, lose some money while trading in and sleep peacefully. Just my 2 cents

I would never not disclose, i believe in reaping and sowing.

They said about 35%. Oh well
