I have been trying to figure out how to update the maps on my 2018 NX with Premium Navigation in the UK.
Anybody tried it and succeeded? I keep getting the message 'Authentication could not be completed'

There’s a detailed thread on LOC (see link). You’ve got to really follow the instructions very carefully but it’s quite straightforward if you do. If you insert the right numbers (generated by the car) the portal will then generate a unique code to be typed back into the car. Once the software is downloaded onto the flash drive it’ll take an hour to upload to the car. You’ve got to upload with the car turned on - engine running.

 

Thanks for the reply. I thought for a moment that you had the answer when you said the engine needs to be on. When I plug the USB in It now says 'Authentication could not be completed'.
Any more suggestions?

 

Has the portal generated a code for you to enter into the car yet? Have you got that far?

I downloaded the update and unzipped it all to a USB stick. I obtained the Device ID and entered that on the website and then took the USB to the car. Turned the car on, gone to Lexus Online, plugged the USB in, and then get the message about authentication.

I followed that to the letter but when I plug the USB in all I get is the message about authentication.
Totally lost.
