I know people may not agree... but, I did this with my BMW & just recently got this Lexus.
I drive lots for work & usually far from home.
Because I can use the Lexus app to remotely unlock my car I prefer to leave my spare key fob in the car, hidden of course. If I ever lose the key fob I keep on me I just remotely unlock the car using the app & then I have my spare fob in the car.
To do this, so the car wont detect & key in it & prevent me from locking using my other fob, I assume I can probably buy a faraday bag & put the spare key in that bag & then hide the bag in the car?
just press and hold lock then press unlock on the fob. Red led will fast flash 3 times. To enable fob, press any key.
this process described in so many threads here.
It was an honest question. And isn’t this the purpose of the NX forum?
The manuals are very large and it would be easy to overlook a detail such as this. I actually read the manuals and I cannot honestly recall seeing this either - although I do recall reading it on one of these forums recently.
Anyway, thank you for the useful information. That is really what these forums is about.

So it’s as simple as putting my spare fob in battery save mode then it can be stored in the car and the primary fob I carry will function as normal?

Should be, yes, since you're deactivating the transmitter. Only why to really know is to try it. The car won't lock the doors if it detects a key inside.
Thread topic has been asked and answered perfectly!
Note: the fob deactivation does not work on the older
fobs, those with the rounded case with trunk and panic
buttons offset from the lock & unlock buttons.
In my older lexus i just used to pop open the keyfob and place a strip of paper between the battery and where it connects to the battery holder, then i closed the fob and left the paper sticking out. You could either open the fob and take the paper out or pull on it to get it to come loose and then get the fob working again. I didn't know the fob in nx could be activated, thanks for the tip.
guess you need a picture from your manual ....from page 160 in 2018 RX manual
Also from page 133 on 2106 NX200T Owner's Manual with the exact same picture and instructions.
If you are keen in observing the confirmation of the key fob being turned OFF, there are 2 red flashes, followed by a blank, then the next 2 flashes. I think turning Off the key fob could help preventing the potential thief to "steal" the unique key radio signals, if you let it ON all the time.
i would just pop the battery out of the keyfob before storing/hiding inside. Just old school manual battery saving mode and even if some one breaks in finds keyfob they cant do squat. (like cancelling the battery saving mode and drive away)
I should have mentioned I don't store the 2nd keyfob inside the car, only pointed out there is no need to pop the battery out just to turn if Off!
If thieves can be sophisticated enough to use an electronic device to program a factory key to start and drive away a Lexus in your driveway, they would have plenty of CR2032 batteries in their "tool box", see this news article: https://www.cp24.com/news/york-polic...suvs-1.4286705
