Default Lexus NX Safety Systems

Hello, we are in the market for a midsize SUV, and were looking at the NX. However one of the questions we have been looking to find an answer is does the NX have Automatic reverse braking with pedestrian detection? I think the answer is no as i have looked through features and safety brochures, but wanted to see if i am wrong.

Also any news or rumors if this is making its way into the 2020 or 2021 versions? Thank you

It has rear pedestrian and vehicle DETECTION system, but it doesn't have automatic rear pedestrian or vehicle BRAKING system. If you hear the beeping when you"re backing up, you damned well better hit the brakes!! lol

Actually on my 2019, I have the ICS (intelligent clearance detection) that will automatically apply the brakes if it detects an object or pedestrian that walked too close as I’m backing up. The other day a shopping cart was rolling away as I was backing out and the NX stopped beeping “brake” on the dash.

Very interesting! I had no idea this was even an option on the nx. Was it a stand alone option or was it included in a group of options? I wonder what else i missed!!!
Well, considering I leased the nx back in September from dealer's stock, I guess i have nothing to complain about!
I also have had close calls in parking lots with pedestrians and carts--- maybe I was just quicker with my braking foot than the system.
HA! Fat chance of THAT!!!!

Have the 2018 top of the line F-Sport and have the "auto-brake" on mine. It will kick in very late and hard !

This system has just become available in Australia. Available on Nissans for years.
