Default Lexus NX 300 vs. Acura RDX vs. Infiniti QX50

Jake just put together a great piece comparing three competitors in the market's hottest segment. You can read it here, or check out the video below. For the record? I don't really like the touch pad in the Lexus either...

I'd be curious as to which he could get around a track faster, but that's probably not high on the list for any buyers.

I just love the styling of the NX F sport. It’s different than any other SUV.

Nice review, although tempted by the rdx, i don't think i would trade my nx for it at this point. I like the nx interior better personally (minus the touchpad) and the fact the rdx is only rated to tow 1500 lbs would kill the deal for me.

I don’t know now the quality of the material they use and the craftsmanship of the Acura, is it getting better?
The reason I say this, because I used to own Acura TL . Within 4 year of ownership, my dashboard start cracking , the headliner sagging, and almost all the lighting in the steering wheel and center console were dead.
I got rid of the the car eventhough I love the engine of the car . Compare to my 1999 Lexus GS 300, everything’s still working till now.

The RDX's interior is leaps and bounds better than anything they have put out in the last 20 years. For the first time it feels like a luxury vehicle and not just a nicer Honda. What looks like wood is actual wood, not printed material. They really did a good job with this vehicle and I honestly felt it was nicer than the NX200t (did the NX300 improve?). If I didn't already have my RX, I would have gone for the RDX.

The new RDX is nice, but not as nice as the NX or QX50. Personally, I like the QX50 the most. Way more room and power than the NX. Much better infotainment system than the Lexus (I would like to see it have Carplay). The interior and seats are awesome (don't like the leatherette on the cheap version, but the Essential and above are awesome). The safety and self-driving stuff is amazing.

The QX50 is nice, but one must do all the upgrades to get the true lux interior. The QX can push 60k, whereas the NX and RDX are under 50k, this is when loading with all options or the highest trim level.

I didn’t like the way the QX50 drove. Not a fan of that CVT. The infotainment system is old tech from the Q50 dating back to 2014. Really odd they used that old setup for a redesigned model. No CarPlay either.

Infiniti’s interiors are vary dated on a lot of their models. QX50, QX60, QX80 and the Q50.

I liked the RDX. But since both models are complete redesigns I prefer to let them work out the bugs first.

Luxury feel, plush quite ride, decent power -- NX wins hands down. Getting anything else means other things like sporty ride, more power , better tech have higher priority for you. In that case one might as well get the 2019 mazda Cx5 2.5Turbo that has more low end torque than the RDx and is equally sporty/borderline luxury/reliable and costs much less than the rdx/qx50..

Is Mazda reliable though? Certainly not in the same league as Toyota/Lexus.

The QX50 looks the best out the entire group but probably the lease reliable of the 3. IMO cars oops these small suv's are a waste of money. Do they really have more space than a nice sedan or subaru hatchback? If you want a suv buy a real one.

Not sure about the QX50 but the NX has a lot more space than the Infiniti G37 sedan I had prior.
