Default Heat settings...

Ok, Does anyone else have the problem of setting their heat settings and leaving the recirc button on, but when they remote start it and get in, it's on the "outside air" setting? Why doesn't it stay where I put it? Can this be changed?

I can only answer the first question....Yes, I see the same thing happen any time I shut down the vehicle and restart (I don't have remote start).

It can be changed. I saw it in the settings when I was using Techstream. It defaults to outside air when ignition is turned off.

You wouldn't know where and in what menu in techstream that setting is would you?

Thanks! Have you tried this before? Because NO ONE at our local two dealerships could figure it out, nor could Lexus themselves lol.

infectious:

Is there anything to unlock via Techstream on our NX's?
One thing I always wondered if you can get the boost gauge in the center cluster even if you don't have an F-Sport trim... I know when I cycle through the screen the last info page is completely blank which leads me to believe that would be where the boost screen and other information is. It would make sense to me that all the sensors are already there on the vehicle..

Is there any way to look that up or see in Techstream?

Thanks,
-Nigel

The blank screen seems to be for non-ClubLexus owners.
Mature folks that don't want to be confused with any spurious info.

Be aware that you can change the default screen. The right steering
wheel spoke button with three small lines, Menu, will bring up the
MPG display when pressed. My bride prefers to know the Miles
until Empty quickly. Simply bring up the display of your choosing
and press and hold "Menu". It will ask if you wish to configure that
new screen as the default, "Yes". Now it will be the first display!

F-Sport specific screens are the Boost Gauge and the G-Force display
that resembles a spider web. The fuel injection computer needs to know
the boost and the Vehicle Stability Control likely uses the yaw measurements
anyway, it would be cool if there was a way to hack into those readings!

I haven't look into all the settings yet. It is pretty much new to me. I came from an '06 IS350. I haven't driven the NX much since I bought it a couple of months ago. I'll update once I get more drive time on it.

Good to know! Will play with it this weekend, and set a new home screen. I think I've finddled with this for about 15 minutes. Wife's been driving it too much for me to play with anything...lol
That's the screen I'd love to get on our non f-sport /luxury model. I wouldn't think that there would not be sensors already on all models to display the information. I know on our W211, a lot of things were locked out of the cluster display. One of those things was how many gallons of fuel are left in the tank. For some reason that feature never happened on American destined w211's, however that can be added/unlocked/coded. I did that and many other things such as power folding mirrors, brake flash during emergency stop...etc.
Do we know if the F-sport NX also has the boost gauge/g-force display if it does NOT have the optional adaptive suspension? If it does it really makes me think it is somewhere which could potentially be added.

Awesome thank you! Can't wait for an update on any information regarding it. Where did you get your techstream and obdII cable from? I have many readers and a usb obdII cable for my triumph when I tuned it and did other features but I have heard from people you need a specific Toyota/lexus OBDII cable because it has something on the receiving part via a chip...etc?
I'd love to pick both up so I can see what's available and or setting changes.

Thanks,
-Nigel

The fsport model has a separate map sensor that is used only for the boost gauge, not sure if non-fsport car has the extra sensor.

Do we know where that location would be? I don't mind looking to see if the non f-sport has it on my wife's nx.

Ok, the dealership and Lexus themselves says this flap that this option controls the normal air recirc that we all know, it's a little hidden flap in the bottom the dash that lets air flow around cabin air filter and into the cabin to prevent must and mildew after you've created moisture by using the air conditioning. It sits open to allow air flow when the vehicle's off and sitting-it closes when you start er up and start using the hvac controls.
