Default Windshield protection for the pre-col models

Wondering about a windshield replacement cost on the Executive or F-Sports 3 as they bothintegrates the pre-colision camera sensor along the rainsensor as part of the windshield itself.
What would be the best solution to avoid a windshield cracks / rocks suprise? a part from not driving behind a semi loaded with rock!.

Haven't figured out any preventive measures but had my windshield replaced a couple of months ago. Cost was $1700 CDN, but glass deductible took care of it.

I dont know if buying a wind deflector would help stop rock projectiles.

I too have always wondered if that would help. I have my doubts it would help with anything heavier than small insects, plus I personally think they are ugly. It's a shame all these modern gadgets we love so much have made windshields so expensive. I'm just not sure there is much we can do to protect the windshield from rock chips. Seems like it's simply a cost of vehicle ownership.

I already had a windshield replaced shortly after purchasing the car with OEM through an insurance claim due to a flying rock. If I recall, it was something in the range of $1600 at my body shop. Mine is a F-Sport without rain sensor.

I've seen a few lambos locally with clearbra on their windshields but from inside it is blurry and they have to change it out often.
