Default Winter Time Car Wash

Hi, do you use gas station touchless car wash or coin operated self car wash during winter? Which is better option to keep my car in a better condition? I am interested to find out from other NX owners.

Thanks!

For winter wash this is what I've been doing. After snow and salt, I will go to the Mobil that has a touchless wash and select the option that includes spraying the underbody. Do note that, touchless wash is seriously not the best way to clean your car. I have an ultra white, so after a touchless wash, I still see all the dirt that just needs to be massaged off with a mitt. Anyways, after the touchless wash, I would either go home and wash it myself or go to a handwash spot; depending on the temperature. Obviously, I'm not going to self wash if its freezing outside. So if I were in your shoes, I would, touchless wash with underbody spraying, then self car wash at the coin operated. If its too cold, go to a good handwash location. Heck, you could skip the touchless and just try to spray the underbody with the self wash machine.

We have Mike's Carwash here. It used cloths rather than brushes. It has left no swirls or scratches after 8 years on a silver IS250 and almost 7 years on our Smokey Mica (charcoal gray) RX350. After a snowstorm with salt, we always use the exterior with the underbody spray. Aztr0 is right that the touchless wash leaves a lot of residue behind, but does get the "easy" dirt and salt off.

Mikes car wash uses tracks that can damage rims with low profile tires. I'm looking for alternatives since I bought 19s.
