Default Clunk noise from sunroof

2015 F sport. I have only had it a couple of months and love it. When I open the sunroof all the way after what seems to be maybe 10 to 15 seconds there is a very noticeable clunk noise. Never had a sunroof that opens to the outside like this. Almost sounds like maybe it is settling down once it is all the way out. Anyone have this issue ? Going on 20k probably in another month and was going to mention it at service time.

2016, do not notice a clunk noise. Do you remember it occurring from day one? or just recently popped up.

It has happened from day one. I though maybe since it goes up at a bit of an angle that maybe it drops down and makes the noise. Going to let the wife open it and stand outside by it to see what might be going on.

Found the noise. Watched it outside and found it to be the wind deflected pops up making the noise. Had sunroofs in 3 Toyotas and never heard it. Maybe needs some lubricant on it? Will let Lexus look at it next month.

I'd have lexus fix it. I'm sure you aren't the only one who has had that problem. The more complaints they may put out a TSB to fix it.

my RCF does it as well, each 5K service I have them grease the track and wind deflector and it goes away for awhile, it is much more noticeable in the heat. Dealership offered to replace the whole unit, I am hesitant to do so for fear of rattles and squeaks in the headliner after a full replacement.

seems like it should go up as roof is going back but it pops iup with a clunk noise after the glass is all the way back. Like a jack in the box. LOL

mine pops as it is going up, it happens more in the heat that in the cold, this leads me to believe that something is expanding and the roof is "stuck" per say. Greasing it helps, but as soon as the car is washed a few times the grease on the outer rubber is washed away.

something else that has bugged me since day one is the sun shade does not go all the way back with the glass, so unless I push it back the last inch by hand, it catches wind and vibrates, I have 2 RC350's as loaners during service and they do the same thing, so it is apparently a design flaw in the double fold sun shade.

It's bugged me enough that I had the sun-roof glass double tinted in 5% and leave the sun shade open all the time.
