Everything I'm seeing points towards the turbo running out of breathe in the upper RPMs, just not enough flow. Can anyone validate?

Even stock, the boost drops off in the higher rpm's, at first I thought it was something with the factory tune but the more I see, the more I think the turbo just can't flow enough.

So...anyone try a turbo swap on one of these vehicles? Something like a little ATP GTX2867r might be fun...

Yes, the turbo is very small. These numbers were done on 2 different cars with the TTI Stage 2 re-flash and we were able to gain a bit more high end power.

The TTI tuner Tony is doing a rebuild on the stock turbo.

Default Stage 2 ECU Flash- Post service visit at dealership update.

Update after service visit at Lexus dealership. I reverted to stock ECU before taking car into service and they didn't say a word about having sport downpipe and cold air intake. I just emailed Tony, so he could check if they updated ECU while service visit, but they didn't touch it. Still doesn't hurt to take ECU to stock before doing any work at dealership, better to be safe than sorry. Tony said "This tune is 100% stock as same as before they wasn't change anything so you just put the stage 2 tune back via flash tools."

On a different note I took a trip of 500 miles in the last couple days and was getting 30-31 MPG going at 80 MPH, on Stage 2 flash from TTI(Tony). Loved the power on the open highway , glad I had my radar to assist me. Lol

ill add pics when I get on desk top, still trying to figure out how to post pics up from mobile.

I'm interested in the comparison of the Tom's to the TTI reflash. I figure the reflash would get the most power and drivablility since it can change timing, shift points, etc.

The TOM's would give you a nice increase in low and mid-range power whereas the Stage 1 re-flash concentrates on more high end, but still gives you power increase throughout the RPM range. If you were to get the Stage 2 with the down pipe then you'll see an overall increase from low-high. The piggyback systems are just requesting more boost, but they tend to die out up top. The re-flash actually adjust the max boost and other components to generate power.

Had another member gain 15WHP with just the addition of a down pipe on the stock tune.

Honestly from experience a DP is always the best upgrade for any turbo car even if your not into more power, as it makes the car much more responsive and alive so to speak

My take on the AFE scorcher.

pros - definitely feel the power, very fun to drive and can't stop pounding on the pedal. Also makes my intake a lot louder and reduces turbo lag. It's almost like instant power.

cons - The switch is very annoying to install and cannot change setting while the car is on, has to be off or acc. Eats a lot of gas cause of heavy foot.

overall it was a great buy and didn't regret it caus it makes the NX fun to drive.
