Very pleased with the build quality on our NX. Only had the headlights readjusted, no other problems, no warranty issues.

Hitting 15k soon and still solid as a rock. Looks like she just rolled off the showroom floor and runs like it as well.

Mine is very good overall, much better than the '13 RX which had noticeable rattles. NX has been one of the tightest cars ever owned, second the the RCF.

Interior:
NX has one of the RX's rattles though which is the rear center armrest. Keeping it in the down position minimizes the noise which is how we keep it. Dashboard is tight with barely a squeak only heard under extreme temp conditions until cabin is brought to more normal temps.

Exterior:
Nicely fit and finished except for the mirrors which creak and feel flimsy.

Suspension and chassis:
I have this occasional tick sound which appears to emanate from the front left door/suspension/firewall area. Neither I nor dealer can pinpoint it despite lots of troubleshooting and a full coilover suspension replacement.

Agreed with corrado about the high quality "tightness" of everything except the mirrors, both inside and out. The outside ones feel like they could break off if I tried to. Apparently they also have wind buffeting, which I haven't noticed yet because I haven't driven it on a highway.

The sunglass case's cover/mirror feels like a very flimsy knick knack. You can never tell if you've set it on.

Mechanically, there's a loud crunching noise from the brakes whenever you initially reverse. Don't know what that's about.

These types of comments concerning fit & finish/build quality are what helped lead me to the NX and away from the Mercedes' GLA & GLC. I lurked here for about a month and a half, and these types of comments brought me to Lexus for my first test drive. So glad I did!

Thanks everybody for your honest non-sugarcoated remarks. My wife & I couldn't be happier.

I wonder if the RX gets more rattles than NX because it's not 100% made in japan like the NX?

Over 12,000 miles and still solid as new. Very pleased overall with the build quality and materials used.

Lexus mfg tolerances are consistent unlike other mfgs regardless of vehicle factory location. Of course one or two production versions will vary but otherwise majority of vehicles produced adhere to insane standards

When shifting into reverse my Mirrors tilt up instead of down, Dealer couldn't figure it out Car has to go in for a full day to fix the problem.

Is there a way to adjust where the mirrors point when in reverse? (And have it go to that setting every time you shift into reverse.)

While in reverse, just adjust them to the position you want and then make sure you put the switch to the right or left mirror (don't use the center position). I believe that's all, however you may have to store the mirror position to one of the memory positions - I can't recall for certain. I did it some time ago so I can't recall for certain, but I think the reverse mirror position stays set regardless of the memory setting.

If you have to store the settings to get them to stick, just press and hold 1, 2, or 3 and "set" on the drivers door for about three seconds and it will beep to indicate you have stored your mirror, seat and steering wheel settings to that particular preset.
