Default Active Sound Control - What is it?

Going through the owners manual and came across ASC. Purpose?

Could be I'm just not grasping what it is or does.

Is the NX so quiet that they have to add engine sound?

Its a computer generated engine/exhaust note coming through the speakers. Lexus thought we'd like a more ferocious sound on an Fsport. Esecially with the weak sounding 4 cylinder turbo in the car.

And it doesn't even work.

At least not in my car.

A switch that makes your NX F-sport seem louder in the interior. I hate it when carmakers use this kind of system that's so fake.

Basically a fabricated engine noise generator. I shut mine off as I like my NX as silent as possible.

This falls under the learn something new everyday category for me.

Must be for the sportier generation to overcome the iPod running full blast

Thank you for mentioning that there is an OFF switch.

Its to attract those who want to drive an X3 35i with the great inline 6 turbo exhaust note, but cant stand the constant breakdowns lol.

Does not do much

The most important feature on these things. Especially on a vehicle like a NX or similar vehicles.

Not much to criticize when you can either modulate it or turn it off. Mine's off, too.

Default sound control missing from my 2019 F Sport package 3

Hello new member here I was wondering does anybody know how many F Sport were made without this option my F Sport is a 2019 and it does not have this option there is a small block off plate in its place which I am happy about who needs fake noise anyway I was just wondering if it is rare for a block off plate to be in it's place where the sound control button is thank you or maybe one of the members can point me in the right direction so I can find out

The Canadian NX doesn't have the ASC button, I think most of the Canadian NX packages doesn't come with ASC. I know the US F Sport package comes with it.
