Water shouldnt cause that? In fact I usually use the towel I dried my car with to wipe the dash down. The towel is moist but didn't think it would harm the screen. Im sorry that happened but thanks for letting all of us know.

Why?
Would there be a problem using Plexus?

A light mist on the screen or on MFer and wipe.

I would not use any chemical based sprays on electronic screens , period. Not unless someone else did first and you watched them and it worked.

They should definitely have a do not use liquid warning on the display ........

I think your dealer might help you out - I'd certainly give'em hell and then call corporate ...if no results. Be a squeaky wheel see if you get oiled.

Many new electronic screens have filters and coatings on them this appears to be one. If it gets behind the coating -nightmare!

I also believe this is a design flaw.....

Wow!That's stinks.
Plexus is used on many plastics without an issue but I can understand not wanting to take a chance.

Are there any precautions or guidelines for cleaning in the owners manual? This sounds like a real problem.

Any moisture on these screens are BAD for them. I know first-hand. Click here to see what happened to mine.

In my case, I suspect that my car wash place oversprayed windshield cleaner on it when cleaning the inside of the windshield.

If water is damaging the coating, then I would hesitate to any chemical whatsoever.

Based on the pattern of "peeling" experienced by both the OP and NXOwner, I doubt the cause is over spray. What are the chances the pattern would be a "curtain-like" band starting from the top? I would believe the overspray theory more if the damage pattern was in spots (like from a spray bottle).

My theory is that the car wash folks were spraying the windshield which caused some spray to get on the upper top portion of the screen. Maybe they noticed this and wiped across the top. I also had some bubbling on the bottom left side, too.

After my dealership replaced the display, they said that they "found moisture in it". In my case, I can think of no other way moisture got on/in it other than overspray. Where I live has typically low humidity. I have had no condensation whatsoever anywhere inside the vehicle. Remember, my NX was only three weeks old when this happened, so I can practically remember everything about the vehicle and the nav screen.

So it sounds like the damage had nothing to do with the outside screen.Fluid got in through the upper portion and got behind the screen.
I wouldn't think the NAV screen would be so easy to damage.
