I kinda like the power band.....very efficient and smooth and if you tromp on it , it goes ok.
Gas will not stay so low for long anyone with any time on earth knows that. All car makers are going to 2.0l turbo engines and some even 1l turbo's. They can pass CAFE standards.
Go drive any of the VW, Acura,Toyota, Nissan smaller CUV's you want lack of power......180ish in most of them or less.

I am more than happy with the performance of the NX, especially in Sport+ mode. It is great for trips around towns and highways. It is my car, so we would not be taking it on long trips anyway. We have a 2016 Santa Fe Sport Turbo for that.. Possibly looking into the new RX.
Here a some pics (apologize for quality) of the sport mode + on the dial, and the info screen.

Its one of the reasons I got a LS3...because one day a 6.2L is going to be extinct. I'm looking at add a Z06 (6.2L LT4) to the garage in 2017-18ish, I'm trying to help my future kids be knowledgeable of what a real motor is lol

Our NX's Turbo four is good when you are at speed but acceleration from a stop makes me wanting more power.
i'm not REALLY sad about it. it would have been nice to have that one more thing to make the f-sport feel a little f-sportier.
The Fsport is a trim...not really sporty hahaha
Now, if companies would stop worrying about stupid body kits and actually focused on improving the car with parts such as:
toe ends
trailing arms
tower and tunnel braces
cross member supports
coil overs
Big brake kits
downpipes & cat backs
CAI w/BOV
This car would then have "sporty" potential. Heck, I'd have trouble deciding what car to mod lol. It might even be fun to autocross at that point.
Don't get me wrong, I love this little car...but you have to admit I'm right.

With a CAI and downpipe and exhaust, you should be somewhere in the ballpark of 250hp.
That would put you on par with most v6 engines, and if you could tighten the suspension, you would be able to throw the car into a corner better.
High hp is not always the most important thing for a "fast" car. Perfect example, the ZL1 is 580hp, while the previous gen GT500 is was 662hp. The ZL1 was faster around a track EVERY time. Why? Because it had power, but the handling ability was there as well.
In regards to an exhaust and downpipe though, the vendors also have to offer an affordable option. Paying 2k-3k for an axle back is just stupid. The ARK cat back I put on my wife's car was 1400, and it was a full cat back with proof of performance. The intake shouldn't cost the $500-600 as the IS-F does (which they only get the tube...which makes even less sense), the intake on my Camaro was $350 and it has proven dyno performance.
They need to MAKE parts, but also make them affordable. Both of which this car is lacking....

Also (side note) stock at that weight it ran a 16.3 then 16.7 then 16.8 in the quarter. As the engine got hotter, it went slower.
