Stairs? Really Waze?
The page you linked to is a Wiki page that discusses the ways that "routing penalties" are assessed by the engine that performs routing. The entire statement, which I've pasted below, is a warning that an editor should not connect certain artifacts (like stairways) to the road network otherwise the artifact could be routed onto!
If a segment should never be used for routing, it should not be connected to the road network. For example, Waze may route over walking trail or stairway segments connected to the road network if conditions are such that the penalized route is still found to be the best route.

Exactly. Think of the potential for abuse here. Technically, if enough people add such derisory routes, Waze could use them.

Bear in mind that edits are not automatic, but go through a hierarchy of approvals by people whose accuracy and credibility scores are incrementally higher than those lower than them. And, of course, and even above all, when using any navigation system it is one's responsibility to use common sense while driving. So no, if Waze tells me to turn right into a river, I don't.

Thanks for the replies. I actually got a call from the technology expert yesterday as I've been running into some other weird issues. Looks like the newest update just came out this month and he confirmed the year behind. He thought it was only going to be 169, but it looks like newer generation is 210 because of micro sd. Joy...

I am curious though if anyone has a 2015 NX with a build date after June to see if it ships with 2015 June NAV map software...

How do you get up that screen to check? The build date is 6-15.......

OK found it same as everyone else. I'm going to call Lexus and find out why if the new maps are out why mine wasn't updated.
