Default New Member - Need Assistance!!

Long time follower of this forum, just decided to join today. I have a 2015 AS NX 200T F Sport with around 300 miles on the clock. Quite frustratingly, the direct TPMS no longer works (I have used it in the past). When I select TPMS and then hit the enter button, nothing happens - no readout of the individual tire pressures. Instead, the letters "TPMS" remain on the TFT screen. I have already tried to re-initialize the system, but to no avail. I have a DD, so I have driven this car literally only on weekends. It has been babied, never even been out in the rain. For the life of me, I simply cannot figure out how it could stop working. I have an appointment set up with the dealership, but I was wondering if anyone on this thread had any ideas. I haven't seen any mention of any type of electrical gremlins in these cars, so I am thinking this may be a fluke kind of thing.

If I do say so myself, its an SUV, not a performance car, drive it in the rain...embrace it...the windshield wipers INDEED work! hahaha

All kidding aside, it sounds like there is a miscommunication between the tire sensors and the DIC.

First, when you say that you select TPMS, why are you selecting anything? You should be able to see the tire pressure by simply scrolling through your DIC using your directional pad on the right side of the steering wheel.

If you are indeed saying that the little car on your DIC has no tire pressure reading outs, have you tired disconnecting the battery of the car and forcing a hard reboot of the entire system? AKA, unplug the car and leave it unplugged for 1-2 hrs so the capacitors all die. Then reconnect and see if they work.

This could be as easy as a system reboot, or could be a faulty wire leading to the ECU, or as bad as an ECU replacement (which can take minutes to pull and swap). If the simple things don't work, time to utilize warranty.

LOL, Swacer, that's funny. Actually, I have a one car garage and a driveway, so my (previously-owned) 2008 QX56 sits in the driveway while the NX is nice and cozy in my garage. I use the NX on weekends typically, and drive the QX to work everyday, so the NX hasn't seen any inclement weather as of yet!

But what you are saying makes sense, I may need to reboot, because the TPMS was working before. This brings back memories of my 2014 Grand Cherokee, I was rebooting that thing seemingly once a week LOL. Thank God I got rid of it when I did.

Welcome to the forum. Did you try to initialize the TPMS, via the Settings menu in the 4.2" center display?

If no luck, Swacer's suggestion's a good next attempt.

This. Have you just tried scrolling through the display options on your steering wheel (right thumb)? One of the readouts is tire pressure (fuel economy, g-force readings, etc being some of the others).
