I too am new to Lexus, but I don't think it tells you what needs to be done, only that you need service. I just passed 5k miles and it only showed service due, nothing more. But, since I am new I could be wrong.

For those who have the navigation system there is a Maintenance Reminder screen under Vehicle Settings. In it you can customize a dozen or so individual reminders (e.g. Oil, Wiper Blades, etc.) and even add a few of your own.
