Bumping this thread as I am having a problem.
My iPhone 6+ shows the incoming text on the nav screen with no issues. Therefore, I know that the car and my phone are set up correctly.
When my wife drives the NX, she tells me the text messages do not alert from the car, nor show on the screen. She can make outgoing calls and receive incoming calls no problem. (She uses an iPhone 6, with identical settings as my iPhone 6+, "Show Notifications" and "Sync Contacts" enabled).

My NX will read my text messages to me via the speaker system. I assumed it works for all smartphones.
Not sure if works for iPhones though. Maybe Lexus wanted to cater to the more popular Androids instead, liked they did with the wireless charger?

Yea, it shows like 1 message and if your moving you have to use your phone. Seems like it should be the other way around, if the car is moving it should display texts on the screen, or better yet, between the gauges .

the only time i really only use the trackpad while driving is when text message comes in on my iphone6+.
Screen says I have a text message, read or cancel. If i consider important, I click on read, and I hear it over the speakers.

Mine also works this way with my iPhone 6.
