Hey all - I've found this forum very helpful.

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how the 300h AWD responds in the snow. Since the AWD is different than the 200t AWD (separate 70 HP electric rear motor), I was curious about its performance in the snow. I plan on getting dedicated snow tires, as they make a significant improvement in traction for my IS250 AWD.

I've had 6 Lexus AWD vehicles, one of which was an RX 400h AWD technically similar in setup as the NX 300h AWD (i.e. electric motor propulsion at the rear), and for every day snow traction, the RXh had the same similarly excellent grip and control as the mechanically driven ICE RX's I also had. One difference and a 300h AWD owner should confirm is the lack of a manual four-wheel lock mode override. On the 200t and past ICE RXs, this mode engaged makes it a little easier to get out from a stuck parking situation (i.e. high snow fall, snow plough buried the car in, etc) since you are proactively forcing the car to transfer power to the front and rear axle instead of the standard reactive mode for either ICE or h models: first FWD, then power applied to the rear after the slightest slip is detected. I'm also always on All-seasons and still loved the RXh AWD so I can only imagine how much better it will be with winters on the NXh AWD.

Canadian winters are arguably worse so I'm more than confident you'll have excellent traction with winters in your state of MI.
