DIY - Grab Handle Ceiling Squeak - FIX
I started noticing a familiar squeaking sound
coming from the rear driver's side ceiling area. As with my past RX and IS, Lexus has (IMO) a minor assembly oversight regarding the grab handles. In short:
ISSUE: Metal clips in the grab handle holding it securely into the ceiling may squeak under certain temperature/humidity conditions (typically when below freezing) while riding over uneven road surfaces. This is because the metal clips make direct contact to the metal ceiling frame - easy recipe for squeaking.
FIX: Add felt tape around the metal clips. As the parts and process are similar, please refer to the one I posted in the 3IS forum a while back here.
