I contacted Lexus directly a few months ago and was told the ML would be available in the US, I posted it here somewhere, now there is always the chance that the person who answered me did not know what they were talking about OR Lexus changed their minds. I guess we will see, but I need a great stereo in my next car...and don't mind paying.

UPDATE: I recontacted Lexus and asked the same question around Sept. 23 and they said they did not know and I would have to wait and contact a Dealer...

A short while after I purchased my 6th new RX, Lexus Canada sent me a survey....all of the comparisons were with BMW... It is clear that BMW is their target. All of this goes hand in hand with the stiffer ride some RX owners are complaining about after coming from gen 2 and now the use of Nuluxe or pleather as the BMW folks call it... The next thing that will suffer to be more BMW-like will be the reliability. As I said on the survey if I wanted to buy a $#@* BMW, I would....but after having had 4, I wont go back. As time goes on however, I am feeling like Lexus has lost its way and perhaps after owning them for more than 10 years, maybe I have to start looking for a new company. I am sorry to say but leather, Mark Levinson and a compliant ride are what makes these vehicles a Lexus. Also interesting to note, the US customers who drive their Enform-equipped vehicle in Canada will fine that it works just fine --so why the hell can't we have it too? (As a side note, I have been told by people who work for Minacs in Oshawa (I live there) that Enform is monitored by Minacs Canada (the OnStar folks) Oh yes, I forgot the meager Canadian market just does not matter.

Keeping it on topic, I think the ML on the NX is pretty decent, probably not as nice as on the LS/GS, but better imo than the comparable systems on competitor's cars that we tried. Will have to have a proper long listen to see if the "Clari-Fi" tech makes a difference too.

I can't believe we're so close to launch and so much is still unknown.

I can't remember another launch like this.

The closer we get, and the MORE I hear that will not be on the USA version, the less interested I have in the NX. A fully loaded NX, (without ML & HUD) will probably sell for MORE than the $42k I paid for our RX in March.

I may still drive one, but NO ML = NO SALE, for me.

I do like the new IS body style or may pickup a low mileage, 3 year old (previous Leased) 3-series BMW for $22k...

it's clear that we're getting neutered version stateside. as nice as the car is it doesn't look like it's going to be a good value.
