Sorry, I can't help you on the trade in part - they always will offer less than you can sell it yourself for. No dealer really wants your trade in. They just do it to sell a new car. You have to decide if it's worth the hassle to sell it yourself.

Can anyone recommend a Lexus of Stevens Creek sales online internet sales adviser? One that you personally dealt with and one who will return emails.

Thanks in advance

If you want to talk to someone at Lexus Stevens Creek, I would see if Eric Cheah is still there. I got my car through him and it was a good deal. I paid around $31K OTT for a 2006 IS250 6MT (Black Onyx/Black) w/18" wheels, spoiler, accessories package.

Not sure if he'd remember me, but you can tell him that Mike Ho sent you. I got my car Jan 2006.

Have people had really bad experiences with Lexus Stevens Creek? I really haven't had all that much of a problem; in fact, one Service Advisor (Gary Shetfield) free stuff to compensate for some minor hassle with my car service. When I had problems with my transmission, they assigned a diagnostic specialist to take care of it and even hunted down another IS250 MT to try to replicate the problem! No swirl marks either when they wash my car.

The parts guy (Neil) @ Stevens Creek is awesome. He's been there for over 10 years and gives discounts on the parts that he sells all the time.

Do other dealerships do the same? Am I just naive?

Mike thanks for your response, I don't see Eric listed on their site, was he internet or floor sales?

I haven't had a bad experience with them, I consider them not returning email rude. Maybe it's time to look at Fremont.

Thanks

My friend and I went there last weekend and got no help whatsoever. We were even in the showroom looking at an LS as 5-6 sales people sat around a BS'ing for like 15 minutes...

As I, and other have stated in this thread, Magnussen's seems to have much better service. Kathleen was great to work with

The internet sells guy returned my email, but he wasn't pleasant to deal with. To be honest, I had just visited a BMW dealership earlier and they ignored me in the same way that 92 SC400 said about Lexus Stevens Creek. Eric was nice and came up to me to talk to me.

I would just call the dealership and see if he's there. I used to have his cell number, but I don't know where it went. I can post it later since it's on a business card in the car, I think.

I was under the impression internet sales offerers a lower quote and less pressure due to fixed commissions than sales advisers working the floor. Is this true?

Mark
Kathleen Xu internet sales if not will she give a quote via internet?

Mikeho, thanks for your input, not having luck with Stevens Creek time to move on.

I don't know if Magnussens has a distinction between internet sales and regular sales. Kathleen always answers my emails promptly and I'm sure she would give you a quote if you asked.

Her email address is: tinglexus@yahoo.com

I am in the market for a 08 ES. Most likely I'll buy it by or before the end of this month. I have also been to Stevens Creek and Magnussens, and the experience is similar with other members, got ignored at S.C.

Has anyone ever considered a "group buy"? If we go into a dealership with 2 or even 3 purchaces at the same time, our negotiation power goes up significatly. sea60, are you also in the market?

My uncle did this with a group of buddies with Porsche - they all bought first or second year Cayennes (some regular, S, one turbo I think) and they got a "group discount." Not sure how much or any of the details. Not sure if Lexus does the same though, but it is possible I guess.

Default Other Dealers and After Market Service

I've only had two Lexus. The first was bought at Serramonte in 1990 - I kept the car for 16 years (91 LS400) and 350K miles. The second is 7 weeks old - bought at Concord Lexus (2007 LS460L with Exec Seating) which is closer to where I live and where I had all my servicing for my 91 done. I got the car with the Costco discount. I wan't completely happy with the service on my 91 - primarily the cost - very expensive. I think they do a decent job. Any recommendations about the various non-dealers who claim they specialize in Lexus? I don't think you are voiding the warranty if you have a third party do the service, as long as they do what the factory says to do.

There are a few that advertise that they do Lexus in the East Bay - Wanut Creek Import Service, Diablo Auto Specialists (Walnut Creek), Joe' Foreign Automotive (Walnut Creek), Foreign Auto Care (Concord), Mekatron (Concord), ASE Master Technicians (Martinez), ToyotaPro (Concord), The Service Outlet (Lafayette, San Ramon). Any experiece with these or any others?

Thanks.

all i can say is avoid PUTNAM LEXUS AT ALL COST! WEAK SAUCE! they would try to rip your ***** off if they could! example. they try to charge me $200 to change the little light bulb that lights up the "D" in the cluster of my moms RX300. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! AVOID PUTNAM LEXUS!
