Mavis sucks.. Never bring your car there...
I just bought some all season tires to replace my toyo proxies and I brang it to Mavis.. After they installed the tires on the car the guy that aligned my tires drove off with my car and chirped 2nd and 3rd gear in FRONT OF ME!!.. I was yelling at the guy at the front desk and he actually had the nerve to say "How do you know how fast he was going.. You weren't in the car..." The stupid kid came back with my car and I yelled at him too. He said "oh i'm sorry i must have let go of the clutch too fast.." Bottom line.. I'm never going to cheap places like that again.. I should have went to sears like my friends told me to.. That kid actually expected a tip too...
dood, that totally sucks. I used to work at a lexus dealership and i would have customers complaining about having their car returned back to them with the radio set to a different station. Im surprised you handled it as well as you did. There is no telling what I would do if someone abused my car like that right in front of me.
Sorry to hear what happened. That's why I would never (ever) let anyone drive my car unless I absolutely have to.
6-7 years ago, some phock head working at Mac Car (Walnut, CA) rammed my BMW 325is' AC Schnitzer front end on the street exiting the curb. He then floored my car as he was driving it down the road.
5 years ago, despite the sercie advisor's assurance that they would handle my car with care, some dumb cheet at the New Century BMW's service department (Alhambra, CA) ran my front bumper into a metal lifting rack and tried to get away with this incident by saying that he had no idea what happened.
Luckily, nothing this bad has happened to my SC4 yet.
In my opinion, people like these guys should not be allowed to work at all. They have no work ethics and their lack of honesty makes their character even worse.

The thing that reallly pisses me off is that nothing will happen to them.. They will just take turns abusing unsuspecting people's cars as they come in to get their cars fixed.. If i didn't come back early who knows what woulda happened... There is something wrong with my car's tranny already and all he did was make it worse.. One thing i must say though... My car sounded nice as it chirped those 2 gears lol...
I live in Great Neck and can tell you AVOID Mavis on Northern Blvd, that place hit my bro's Acura to fix a flat and had the nerve to not tell us, until we spotted it and then they admitted to it. Go to Best Tire instead and speak to Howard or Jose. Sorry to hear you had to go through such aggravation.
i was at best tire... I just went to Mavis cause best tire cost an extra 50 bucks to do the installation of the tires and alignment.. Serves me right for going cheap... One just i just realised as i drove my car at night today... MY CLIMATE CONTROL LIGHT is burnt out... How the hell did that happen? It was fine yesterday night!!
