hey guys, i am new to the sc400 game..i just bought a 95 sc400 with a 2jzgte swap AUTO...i want to know if i get a r154 tranny do i have to extend the piece where the shifter goes....if i get a 1jzgte tranny do i have to do this as well or it drops in without any extending..and what driveshaft can i use..thanks guys.
I can't tell you about the driveshaft but I can tell you you will probably need to extend the shifter and get either a 1j clutch and flywheel or a getrag 6 speed clutch and flywheel. I know for the sc3 you need to get a mkIII drivehshaft and modify it to make it fit. Top section= mkIII, Lower section=stock. It's probably the same for you. Get some more opinions though.
the jzx90 chaser and jzz30 r154s have the extended shifter(like the ones seen on the sc300/mk4 w58s and the mk4 v160). if you can get one of those r154s your straight.....otherwise if your using an r154 from an mk3 you will need to make something up. im sure theres a few guys on here thats done it.
driftmotion sells the shifter extension
you use the r154 front peice and the sc300 carrier bearing
youll need to cut a little for the shifter nomatter what you do unless you get a true soarer r154 but good luck.
marlin crawler sells the speedo sensor adapter that youll need its 55 dollars.
thanks for the good info..i will keep you guys posted...or i can get a custom driveshaft made as well? but i will just take my time and gather up the parts..most of them will come from driftmotion
