Default GS300 Engine Mount Replacement

Hey Guys,

So it seems to me that my engine mounts might need to be replaced, because I am feeling excessive drive train movement. At higher RPM shifts, it feels like my engine moves slightly and shifts aren't as smooth as they once were. I have already had the trans mount replaced, and that hasn't seemed to help. I checked the forums, and this seems to be a common issue with the 400's and 430's, but I see little regarding the 300's.

I guess my question is how difficult is it to replace the mounts on the 300? It only looks like there are two mounts, but how hard a job is it? Does anyone here in the north east do this kind of work relatively inexpensively? I live in northern Virginia, thanks!

Purchase the mounts from CL vendors Sewell Lexus or Carson Toyota. Any competent mechanic should be able to install these rubber motor mounts. Good luck..

I know that the mounts are a common problem on gs 400 and gs 430. I have a 2002 IS 300 which has the same engine as yours and my engine mounts broke when my car had 109k. I found a guy in Rockville who had been a diagnostic specialist for Lexus for 18 years, and he replaced them for a really good price and he did the 90k as well for a very, very good price. You should check him out the name of the shop is LXT Automotive. the web site is ******************

good luck!!!

What did he charge you to replace your engine mounts? Also, do you have a contact number for him? Thanks!
