My guess is that my title is very misleading.

I'm in the market for a used car. I live in jersey, but there's a car in queens l'd like to check out. I was wondering if anyone knows or is a qualified mechanic that would be willing to accompany me to the dealer. I would be willing to pay. Basically, the car is modified--not what I really want--but it's the color and trim level that I want. No service records, but it only has 40k on it. I called the dealer, he said the car is in fair condition.
