Default Question for Dallas peeps

Has anyone tried to purchase something from Sewell online with your CL discount and pick the parts up in person instead of paying for shipping? I was told you can't??

some of the parts counter guys there would give you the discount if you ask them... the internet sales people seem to ignore the requests...

Is it a matter of waiting? If so, last year I ordered the entire spare tire kit for the SC430 and I got it two days later. It doesn't take long. Everything I've ordered online comes really fast.

I already asked them many times. They always said they're not setup for customer pickup. As a customer, I was trying to forgo their shipping charges to save some $$$. It may be cheaper to buy off ebay from another dealer since you don't have to pay the 0.825% state tax.

But yes, you'll get your stuff from Sewell online really quick. Usually next day or the day after.

I have asked and have been given the same answer that they are not set-up for customer pick-up. I agree it would be awesome if we could pick them up and forgo the shipping. However, even with the shipping charges and tax I am still coming out ahead by purchasing from them.

Yeah i was told the same thing, that the online parts is a different entity. I think the online store isn't directly linked to the physical dealership parts department. It's probably just a large distributor used by several dealerships, just with different online storefronts.

Does anyone have a shipping label from them still? I'm curious to know if they ship from the same address as Sewell Lexus in Dallas or if it shipped from another location like a central DC.

Not a matter of waiting, just thought it'd be nice to go pick up headlights I just bought. I'm still going to have to wait for my IS-F front bumper and new hood before she goes under the knife, so time is not much of a factor.

I will have a shipping label from them tomorrow when I receive the engine and transmission mounts that I ordered on Sunday. FedEx tracking appears as though the item was picked-up in irving, but we will see tomorrow.

I'm gonna raise the BS flag and say they can do it but would rather not bother taking the chance of losing a sale, or just lack of effort. Nonetheless, they have awesome prices and outstanding service.

I am wondering if commission plays a part in all of this. I wonder if the service rep gets a piece if the person pays and picks up a part from the service area in the physical dealership? Since there is only 1 guy in charge of the online parts sales/distribution, that this is the way they can keep there online parts prices at a minimum. This may also be why you can not pick the item up.
