Depends on what you are looking for. Baltimore is a seafood loving town, being that we are on the waterfront and all, so I would suggest a trip to the Inner Harbor (Downtown). Quite a bit of variety there. What type of food are you looking for?

well if you had said annapolis i could give you some great recommendations since i've become a real food snob lately and try to seek out all the best spots for everything from cheap to sheik but yeah baltimore is another story. there are a few famous deli's to get some good *** samiches and some spots to get some fried fish and greens there are some touristy spots too that have the usual overpriced fresh seafood. there are a few good mexican and south american spots i know of as well if your interested... there is another famous tapas spot too but its a little pricey and i think you need to wear a jacket.

wait,, so you can't get old bay outside of MD¿ i'm from FL originally and we always put 'some' on our crabs when i was growing up. i say 'some' cuz i still like to taste whatever i put it on and not just salty old bay... i've lived in annapolis for 5 years now and i swear i get hated on so much whenever i say to go 'light' on the old bay they always seem confused and i say at least not orange; they look at me like "where is this guy from",, i always tell them i like the flavor of OB but i also like the flavor of crab or skrimps or whatever i am putting it on too

BTW Cantlers is my go to spot for good crabs in annapolis... the sea food market for take out and i sit on the picnic table in my back yard and watch the sail boats go by on the bay oh yeah and gotta have some red stripes too.

In many cases,, unless you have lived in Md, have had relatives from Md, or had some who came here, tried it and exposed it to someone else back in their state, it generally is NOT a known spice outside of the tristate area. MOST shorefront communities/states along the east coast have at least HEARD if it, but you would be surprised at how many who have not. Yeah,,us NATIVES like it heavy on the Old Bay, but I agree with you, that sometimes people just get carried away with the stuff. It is pretty good on fries and just about anything seafood related.

Cantlers, as Sojah mentioned, is pretty good in Annapolis. Up in Bmore, Phillips (a lil bit pricey sometimes), Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, Fogo De Chao (high-end steakhouse), Mo's(another seafood restaurant), are all located in/near the Baltimore Harbor. If you are looking for Italian,,,Section of the City called "Little Italy" is only a few blocks away from this area as well.

yeah man, i got a little shaker of it at my work but need to refill it. our local seafood market in FL had Old Bay for sale at the checkout so i'm guessing they found out about it and wanted to spread the love.

i think they also had it at the Commissary (spice isle/section) in Okinawa Japan.
