My first earthquake that I was awake for.

It was a 5.9 that hit just north of richmond VA. Lots of states felt it even NY and canada felt it.

At first I thought it was underground blast, but it felt longer than usual.

What you think of your first experience earthquake?

I know ppl from the west is feeling like this is nothing.

5.9 Earthquake on the East coast
Im here about 15 mile south of Baltimore and my whole house started shaking as i was sitting on my couch with my 3 week old son in my arms. I felt a small vibration grow into a rather intense shaking as panic started to set into my fiance. I rushed outside to see that all my neighbors were doing the same in disbelief i have felt smaller earthquakes in the past but this one was by far the strongest. Just thought I would share my experience with Neloc.

I am here in the City at work. First I felt the floor moved on the 11th FL I thought it was my chair and attempted to move my feet which didn't stop the movement so I hold my stomach thinking it was a tummy rumble then the lights in the sealing started shaking for about 20 seconnds.

All I could think of was my love ones.

There were ppl in my office who did not one to evacuate, I didn't waste much time on them as I was already heading for the staircase.

Guys we felt it up here in Philly too. It was quick but shocking. I've never felt an earthquake before. I was driving in my company truck at a red light. It felt like a tractor trailer wiz by you at a real high speed. Well thats what i thought it was......................but then i realized i was stopped.............at a RED LIGHT!!!! Kinda fun/weird/different all at the same time....
