so um my wife and i love some korean bbq and we have tried a few places in the nova/ md area however where we used to live at in colorado it was very very easy to find good korean bbq joints where 2 people could bbq their own shiz and eat for like $30 or less. my question is am i just going to the wrong places or why are all the ones out in this area like 50+ for 2 people to grill their own shiz and eat?? what is a good recommendation for a good korean bbq spot where its reasonably priced.
*** i'm not rich but i'm not poor either. i don't mind spending money on good food, but i like to feel like i got my monies worth, you know¿ and i don't think 1-2 orders of kalbi and some fresh vegetables should cost upwards of $60 for someone to grill themselves. call me crazy***
we have walked out of a few places when after asking how much for 2 people to grill their own kalbi the response was like a minimum of 2 plates of meat at $20+ each ($22 x2 is $44 plus tax and tip is like $55). lame...
even a buffet for $20 is outrageous in my opinion. everywhere i've been but this dc area kbbq is a lot cheaper. where i lived last there was no minimum order of x2 to sit at the grills and x1 order was more than enough for x2 people. we would both get full and we would each get a beer for like $32 tax tip and all food included. Try that out here
lately we've just been buying our own from 'H'ar-mart and doing it ourselves like you mentioned 02gpIS.
at our last bbq (on the beach) we had over 60$ of H mart kalbi and it was gooooooood, i must have eaten a whole package myself.
my next fav has got to be that korean chicken they make thats all sweet and spicy.
