Default Other Car Forums?

So I joined the Bimmer forums to get to know some tricks and stuff that the manual/dealership doesn't tell you and what can I say...

It's been a HORRIBLE experience so far.

A lot of former 7 series individuals have been switching to the LSs...and whenever someone posts about the switch or has pics of their ride..it's INSANE amounts of bashing about Lexus and even as specific as bashing directed towards ClubLexus.

I always knew of the rivalry between German and Japanease engineering but this crap is just over the top! It's funny how everyone who switched from the 7 to the LS says they finally got out of their Lemon. I'm not a loyal fan of neither- both cars have their own perks but the majority of the members there just say rude remarks that have no basis to them.

Out of all the forums I've been on so far, I can definitely say- hands down, that Club lexus is the best community out there. I haven't seen the type of bashing that goes on over there done over here. For the most part, everyone speaks with respect and has substance behind the statements they make.

I was wondering if anyone else is an active member of another forum and what their experience has been.

(An end to my rant, lol!)

Ever since I got my C, I've been on the MBWorld Forum. Members in the C class section are real cool. Everyone is helpful, friendly, and lively. Overall it's been a great experience with a lot learned from the C class community. My biggest gripe is that we can't get a meet arranged, even if our lives were on the line. Every month we'll bring up the topic of meeting up somewhere in NY or NJ but it just falls through. It's been years since I've made it out to a meet and I'd love to see some of the other C classes around the tri-state, but no one is ever able to make it.

The Off-Topic section is night and day compared to ClubLexus. Majority of the forum is conservative and most discussions are political. ClubLexus is more laid back with a mix of conservative, liberal, etc. members. There's nothing on MBWorld that compares to CL's car chat either. I enjoy reading the opinions of other members when it comes to new releases and car news.

I'll always keep coming back to CL & NELOC, no matter what car I am driving.

^^

I concur with these observations.

But beyond even switching makes, other forums such as my.is which are still Lexus related are no where near as mature as ClubLexus is. I don't even have my GS or IS anymore, but I keep coming back here because only in these forums have I associated with the best people.

I currently own a WRX, and I don't even want to waste your time describing how much I despise NASIOC. In no way am I saying that in other forums there aren't knowledgable people with real experience and great personalities, but they are drowned out by the trollers, wannabes, and e-thugs all over the internet.

Some of my friends ask me why I still check on CL and respond to threads or set up meets. The answer is easy and obvious to me. People can type properly lol

And of course TLN was always a fantastic companion to late night college studying

Avanti,,, remember when you got the 7 I made mention to you that the "real experience" of ownership" will now begin? Welcome to the world. LOL!!!

In all seriousness,, I am a member on 5 or 6 other forums as well and CL is pretty much my home. One of the main reasons why we are so sucessful as a grouping, is not so much the topics we cover, the discussions we have, but it is the PEOPLE!!! I sure that some of you can concur that even though many of us have never met one another, we can read statements here day in and day out, and it just FEELS like family here. When we finally DO get to meet face to face, you just fit right in, and there is no feeling in the world like that.

Am gonna revive a phrase we had around here and that is simply this,,

"NELOC (CL)-- You may come for the cars,,,but you stay for the people"

im a member on a few forums. before coming to CL i was over at jbody.org when i had my cavaliers. good people with a lot of knowledge but a bunch of the members were just ricer (i even hate to use that word but theres no other word to describe them) idiots. All 16-18yr old kids who thought their car was the best because they had a system

I am currently a member of TST (tristate tuners). Meh its an ok forum. Again a lot of members with knowledge but a ton of doucebags because its mainly all kids. Your not cool on that site unless you drive a 240 or WRX

I do have to say though on both those forums, i like the off topic areas better. They sub forums like "anything goes" or "garbage bin" where theres pretty much no forum rules. its interesting to see some of the threads that go up lol.

Overall though CL is by far the best site ive been on. Everyone gets along with everyone and theres little to no bashing on other members. Even at meets everyone is very friendly.

The majority of these guys were BEYOND retarded...they kept on cursing at every single non-bimmer car that went by i.e. infinitis, vws etc...LOUDLY cursing at them!! lol, it was embarassing. The only car they didn't abuse was this Range sitting on 22'' chrome rims- wtf? lol

True Story. Epic Fail.

I concur with others on this thread club Lexus is the best! I really like how we have respect for each other, and while we love Lexus, if another car make is making great cars we talk about that as well.
