So my engine (2000 GS300) got destroyed when the remote start initiated while the timing belt and other parts were off. Long Story Where should I go to get a replacement? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The stock motor (2jz-vvti) I guess.

Yeah man, I think the buttons might stick from time to time or the remote start mechanism itself is malfunctioning. I keep hearing about the GTE swap. Can you give me some details on that?

 

thats the infamous Supra Twin Turbo engine. the JDM Aristos came with the 2JZGTE motors also. thats if your interested in dumping some money into that though....they tend to add up.

 

Oh yeah that's right. Well it depends on how much is involved and how much I'll have to spend. Where could I get the engine from anyway?

Is there anything else involved besides just dropping the engine in? What about the tranny???

 

im not so sure about the transmission though Brian, better off asking the dudes in your GS thread. Manual would be fun but a pain especially in NY.

 

Yeah I'm talking to those guys right now too. I'm not gonna do manual though.
I just want to know if my current tranny will hold up on that engine cause now I'm really thinking about doing the swap especially since my mechanic has to cover 1000 dollars of the engine.
