Lookin' for a new doggie !
My 12 year old American Staffordshire died a few weeks ago. He lived a nice full life but succumbed to liver cancer.
My wife and I are looking for a new dog, specifically a female Staffordshire Bull Terrier. If anyone on here knows of a breeder or a litter of pups please let me know. I am willing to drive up to 5 hours one way to find one. We're being breed specific because of the Staffordshire Bull's EXCELLENT reputation with kids, their smaller size and their longevity.
And yes we ARE checking pounds and rescues ! However I will not adopt an adult dog because we're having a baby in October and I cannot trust someone ELSE'S failed training or a dog I haven't trained/observed since it was a pup, with our newborn.
FYI the term "Pit Bull" refers generically to 3 breeds of dog.
American Staffordshire Terriers - grow up to 75-80 lbs
American Pit Bull Terriers - grow up to 55-60 lbs
Staffordshire Bull Terrier - max out at 45-50 lbs
