Default Need a good body shop

Ok...I'm extremely frustrated with the body shop I've been using. I got my spoiler removed it came out bad. There was obvious bondo marks left behind from improper sanding and light paint. There were also tons of white specs on the paint. So I called the body shop and he was willing to correct it. I sent it in for the trunk to be re done. Now when I picked it up it seemed alright, but I didn't have adequate lighting to fully see what was wrong. Now the trunk comes back worse then before. The bondo marks are gone, but now there is extreme orange peel, the left side of the trunk is wavy and there is overspray on top and on the "face" of the trunk. It looks like they just decided they were gonna fix it by spraying a lot of paint.

This is the day after I picked it up that I noticed it. After noticing it I got extremely pissed off because I spent a good amount of money. Now I'm not even sure if I want them to try to fix it again because it just seems like I'm gonna get the same poor results. I'm not even sure how the guy is gonna react when I call him to tell him I'm unsatisfied again and I shouldn't feel worried about how he's gonna react, since it's their fault I'm gonna have to complain again. This is also a shop that members go to so I don't want to out them, but I might have to if it doesn't get fixed or compensated in some way. I'm just so pissed off and the VIP meet is soon and my trunk looks like i stopped by shea. Sorry for the vent but I'm heated!

That sucks. I would send it back to them. Orange peel isnt that hard to remove. They just need to wetsand it some more and buff it out. It seems like they were just trying to get rid of you because you had already paid them. In the future, take it to my guy Luis @ Nationwide painting on Queens Blvd. Hes the one that looks like Pablo Escbar. Hes usually close to perfect with his work and when hes not, he doesnt give you a hard time when he has to fix the slight impresfections.

Even the best shops make mistakes sometimes. Overspray isnt always obvious at first. Good luck with what ever you end up doing

Talk to the manager and let them know you want what you paid for. Even if they made a mistake and they know about it, they should say "Hey we hit a snag, we want to take care of it, we will need more time."

If that fails, take it to the better business bureau and try to solve it with them. Paint jobs/fixes cost money and shouldn't have to waste hard earned money on a half a$$ job.

I got everything worked out with the shop. I'm pleased to say it's fixed to my likings. Great guy to deal with!

it might take a little more times to get the job done right but as long as they are willing to work with you its a plus for the shop. Good to hear that everything turned out well. Now some pics to update us on the slight change would be good Travis!!!

Yeah, I'm happy that my car came back to me fine.

I'm waiting to install two other small touches before I take some pics. I've been meaning to take some, but I suck at pics and my friend is always busy. Hopefully I get some up soon.
