Exclamation Safety in 08 ...... Please Read

With Carlos having a little accident this week it got me thinking..... with the upcoming meet/show season right around the corner we need to keep each other in check when it comes to safety. I'm not trying to take the fun out of things, I realize we build up our cars for a reason. I'm just trying to say that we need to think about things before we act on them. Last year we had a few caravans get out of hand, and we all pushed the limits at times, myself included. We need to keep in mind that in a caravan our actions can effect the lives of the 30 other people driving with us, as well as the everyday motorists. Just thinking back to Todd's accident, and now with Carlos, it doesn't take much to have a bad thing happen, whether it be weather, congested roadways or just pushing the car a little too much, lol. I'm just looking out, I'd like to keep all of my NELOC brothers and sisters in one piece this year. If we want to push the cars, we'll rent a track, that way I can show Jimmy on paper how much faster my car is than his As I mentioned it's all about the fun, I'm not trying to take that away, let's just be careful. I put together a quick slideshow for all of you....

Wow thats a really good slideshow. Ya know I just heard that song not to long ago and it made me think of all the accidents I've had and in retrospect it was never worth it speeding or driving like I did. I have to share this slide show with some of my other friends it just gives new meaning to that song

this summer... i'm coming to a track NEAR you...

either whip that *** on home turf or dwell on the loss during the long drive home. I'm serious this time.

we'll get this done once and for all

you pick a day.. any day for me is a good day to win

Let's keep it safe, as stated here. Definately a great idea to have a NELOC track day.

I need some time slips of Jimmy on foot

Craig,

Great post and a great video. I think some of us forget it takes a split second to end up in a accident or cause one. We all need to be reminded at one point or another the importance of being safe. Great post.

Craig, you are and have always been....the MUTHAFU@#!IN' MAN! Great reminder!

I'm down for keeping things in check during all caravans, as long as I can still do the "Batman Weave"...which is to weave inside your lane back and forth when the traffic is heavy and the speeds are low (but not weaving in and out of your lane, only WITHIN your lane).

maybe we can all sign up for one of those awesome emergency drivers ed courses where they teach you emergency manuevers in your car.
like how to properly handbrake in an emergency or regain a powerslide.
I saw it on the speed channel once.
It looks awesome and is completely safe inside a closed track monitored by professionals. anyone know what i am referring to?? i know i didn't dream this up.

** edit**something like this but not in australia obviously

Wonderful Post Craig. The video brings back painful memories but as long as it gives others the a sense of responsibility. Great work. We look forward to seeing you again at Carlisle.

I believe Summit Point in WV offers a driving school to teach you things like you mentioned above.

I couldn't agree more, I was hesitant on using some of them at first, but I thought it would help bring reality to the point. Looking forward to seeing you as well.
