Default Paintjob costs - NYC

I am contemplating getting a re-spay on my SC300 - considering doing a color change including all the in-between areas. Just wondering for those with experience, what the price difference would be between just doing an exterior respray vs. exterior respray w/ door jams, trunk, engine bay etc.

Thanks in advance.

Certain places charge btw and extra 150-250 extra for each door jamb on top of the cost of the exterior paint job. Usually to change the paint of the car is and extra 200-300 by itself. Depending on what type of paint and body work it total cost can go from 2000-4000.

Are you on Crack with that Maaco statement? whats the point of painting if you cant prep a car? Maaco is horrible, you ever think about what ur getting for $500? I got my car painted for under $4000 respray of OEM toyota black #202. There isnt a spec of orange peel anywhere on my car. They also did some serious rust work and dent removal also fixed a $1800 GEICO quoted dented targa, painted and installed bodykit for me.

I would say I give the job a 9.8/10 (there will always be imperfections you find here and there as months go by and you notice odd little things)

I had my old car repainted (factory color) for roughly 2,500 and that was with many things at cost. Regardless whether or not you are respraying the same color or not, I wouldn't spend less than 2-3 grand unless you know the person on a very close level and trust them.

Maaco is the biggest rip-off known to man...

Expect anywhere from 3000-5000 for an excellent job..

Thanks for the input - perhaps I need something a little more clear cut. If a full exterior respray would costs, $3k - how much more would I expect to spend for engine bay, door jams, trunk - all else equal. IF its a lot more, will probably stick with same color. If its a marginal increase, I may consider going a totally different color. Thanks!

RICH - the Sup is looking MEAN!!

Thanks bro.... Acevedo in NJ who paints all the NEW IMAGE Motorsports car charges around $5500 for a complete color change and show car finish in and out. Problem is it takes TIME and you have to schedule that as they are very busy! but the cars come out crazy!!!!! I was going to take my Supra there, but I couldnt leave the car there for a month and not be able to just drive over weekly to check on it. Either way they do great work!!!

FYI, a used car retains its value MUCH better if you don't change the OEM color. (why i chose a factory respray- I originally wanted the Porsche Basalt Black Metallic)

I had a previous car repainted twice at MAACO. I found a great difference between individual independent MAACO franchisees. Some were terrible, others gave you your money's worth IMO.
