hey guys, it's almost Valentine's Day time to take that special someone out you know.Perhaps you guys and girls can probably recommend me some decent Asian restaurants in or around NYC excluding Jersey since i'm no expert when it comes to good food. Not looking to spend more than $80 for two. Thanks. I've heard about the Tao Restaurant, but is it really worth it. Thanks guys.
I agree with going to Sea as well..One of my all time favorite spots but 1 hour wait time, no parking spots and no reservation rule really makes it hard to get a table..Been there twice the past month, I couldn't stand the wait time for just 2 people, ended up going to another resturant..
I also agree with Sea Thai in Bklyn: Food/Drinks Parking/Wait
Jaiya Thai Rest. (2 locations) http://www.jaiya.com/
Murray Hill - 28th & 3rd Ave (Lots of other restaurants in that area)
Hicksville, LI
The food is great at both spots. The shrimp soup is a must have! Parking available at LI.
Check out this website. They have a couple of good restaurants in NYC http://www.spicenyc.net/ also includes Sea Thai in Bklyn
I agree..Spice in Chelsea area has excellent food, better than at sea, although its from the same owner..Better chefs I guess, but not much of a decor..On the plus side, there is no wait time and the food is very tasteful..

Good luck and enjoy!
hey I actually took your suggestion and went to Spice, I went to the one in University place though. The food was great the service was pretty good too considering it was pretty busy at the time.
Afterwords we decided to stop at Kmart since I haven't gone there in two years and then I managed to pick up something I always wanted.
This is late but just for anyone else that wants to know of a good local asian place, you can try "Toyo" in Middle Village queens located on Metropolitian ave. near 73rd st.
Food is good, the place is nice and its not too expensive but not cheap either
Thanks for the review on that "ninja" restaurant. I really wanted to check this spot out on one of the nights i craved Asian food. I ended up going to my usual spot "Asia de Cuba" (in the Morgans hotel located bet 37th and 38th streets).I have to disagree/agree with the comment made about Asian fusion cuisine...If done well it's absolutely addictive!.I have to give a strong recommendation to Asia for the Cuban Asian style cuisine and top notch decor, but pricing is more than moderate (meal portions are meant to be shared though) which will keep pricing down somewhat..I probably will still go to "Ninja" just to check out the decor and atmosphere but, i will lower my expectations..
