Sup peoples. Ok...I've posted numerous questions relating to my 91 LS400 problem, you can look back at them. The car has been to 3 different mechanics: 1 tore the car apart without unbolting things 1 said I needed a new ECU & the last guy said he couldn't figure it out but it definitely wasnt the ECU!! Im very patient as you could imagine as I've been without my LS for 3 months now & I would like to know if anyone can refer me to a good mech. or if there are any Lexus mechanics nearby that can help, etc.FYI--CL member TACH_MOTOR has been a great help so far but I need som1 other than me to get her runnin,I tried. Read back on my previous threads to get a better understanding of what went wrong & if any1 can help please pm me or whatever! Thanks every1
Maybe you should re-iterate the issues here or post the links to whatever threads your referring to that you posted the problem in.
List the issue and what has been done already in regards to trying to resolve the issue. The more details you state the better chance you have of someone who reads it may be able to help you.
oops.By the way, I live in central Jersey, 117/114 off the GSP, Hazlet. I got an LS400 91, motor just put in with 80,000k & new tranny, bought it off my mechanic 3 months ago, started & ran fine/quiet.Thought I'd be nice & do some maintanence on her & one of the things I did was clean the throttle body. There were no gaskets available in my area & me being impatient I bought the material & traced out my own gasket but like an idiot I didnt cut out the hole for the "flapper".It started just fine, but when i hit the gas it stalled because I didnt realize i forgot to cut out the hole til i took it apart again.I cut the hole out,put it back together & the car would start for a very split second than stall, I posted a thread & tried everything I/they thought but no luck so I sent it back to the mechanic I bought it from.He said the injectors-good,fuel pump-good,plugs have spark, etc. He cant figure out (what I did) or whats wrong. He said the car will start if he sprays it with starting fluid but otherwise no luck.I hope you can help because I haven't even driven the car yet & I've got work & 3 kids plus been borrowing a car. Anything is appreciated, thanks.
So basically you starved the engine of air. Did you change the Karman Vortex AFM? Do you hear the starter clicking when you turn the key? Do you have any lights on in the dash (ie. CEL)?
I haven't touched the AFM, the battery is somewhat dead but it constantly clicks when i try to start it & all lights come on but I received no codes from the computer.
you cant clean the karman with regular maf cleaner. I found that out the hard way after i cleaned mine. since the karman uses a light, mirror and photoelctric sensor the fluid can damage the electronics.
sorry maf would have shown a code. Here is a troubleshooting chart. You are suppose to check the suspect areas in numerical ideas.

Reason: re-read your last post.
Good looks Platano..Ill give him a call, gettin it towed there is all I'm worried bout(201) is definitely north Jersey, cars been sittin for awhile already.I just don't wanna have it towed to my house again just to get it towed to som1 else again. I'm also in the works with som1 else that might come look at the car so I don't wanna blow him off but if he doesn't come thru I'm callin your boy up. Also thanks for the trouble-shooting link, unfortunately I don't think I'll make the meet though.
Alright folks,i appreciate those who tried but no answers on a mechanic so its at its 4th mechanic now, all i can do is cross my fingers & hope i get some real answers, if not .....?????? P.S. Platano, I called your boy Jae up & its just too far, the tow alone is $175 minimum, but I appreciate the shout.

Reason: missing info
I know a lexus mechanic in Ocean County, off of Route 18. he helped me back when I had my SC. Shoot me a PM. I wish I met the guy back when I first got my SC--would of saved myself a lot of money and worry.
