Default Down goes TTurboPimp!!

Man, I gotta get my car back before I kill myself in these damn bikes!

I just bought another Busa last week, had it out for the first ride.....then it all went wrong. I wasnt paying attention like I should, looked over my shoulder for 2 seconds, look back at the road, and BAM.....a damn deer running right in front of me! With no time to react, I turn to the right and go in the grass. As I tried to bring the bike back on the road the rear tire gets caught in a drain ditch which drags my back end with the ditch and right into a mailbox that was held int he ground by a 4x4 post. I smash into that (keep in mind I was going about 60 when this happened), which threw me over the front of the bike and into the street. I land on my head and left shoulder, thank god for helmets, it did its job perfectly. Like a dumb ***, I didnt have my jacket on. I end up with a broken bone in my shoulder, 2 broken ribs, my right leg and foot was all brusied up, road rash on my left fore arm and left shoulder/ back ( raod rash aint no picnic), and some other abrasions and bruises. The post hit right where my foot was on the foot peg. Im lucky it didnt shatter my foot, Im actually able to walk on it now...this happened last Friday afternoon.

THe 1 day old bike doesnt appear to be in too bad of shape, it looks to be mostly cosmetic at this point. I dropped it off to get looked at today, hopefully nothing expensive is bent.

21 yrs of street riding like a fool, and I go down the first time on a damn straight road!!

I know most of yall aint into the bike thing, but I thought I would vent to you anyhow.

Peace!!

Wow man, good thing you can still walk. Dont blame yourself or experience. Accidents happen. Deers like to wander into the road. Even if you saw it you would probably jam the brakes or make a sharp turn to avoid it (guessing what would happen). Get well soon!

Pimp, you must be careful on that Busa! My boy tried talking me into getting one. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when!

Dizzam bro sorry to hear that. I'm always paranoid when riding on certain roads at night cuz of deers and other animals. Wifey wants me to get rid of mine bad. She hates motorcycles. Be safe bro.

Thanks fellas.....hopefully the GS will be back on the road soon. I would love to hit some local events, but if I dont have my ride, I dont like to go.

Agreed, it could have been much worse, so I gotta count my blessings....I just cant believe how it happened. I do my share of stupid stuff on my 1k, and I hit the twisites hard on it. I went down on a damn straight road!! Partially my fault for not having my eyes in front of me at all times, partially just bad *** luck. This was 2 in the afternoon.....what the hell is a deer doing out that time of the day?

Smitty, Im with you bro, my wife cant stand this bike thing.....its gonna be interesting when I heal up and go to get back on them for the first time. I know she's gonna flip. I might meet her in the middle, sell my 06 1k, and keep the Busa. The 1k is the one I really ride the **** out of, the Busa is lowered and stretched....cant play around as much on it....no wheelies, etc, etc....

Then again, it may not make a difference to her, seeing how I went down doing nothing crazy this time. Its in my blood though....not sure if I can give them up entirely. She has a good argument when she brings the kids into it.....not alot I can say to that one.

Thanks fo the support fellas.....I will be at one of these damn meets this year!
