I know those of you who have been following my progress with the car are wondering how my alternator install went. Well let me tell you IT WENT SMOOTHLY! Sorta... lol
Well I have never messed with the engine bay or anything in there before and this swap was not a walk in the park for me. I did manage to pull it off with many a scrape and what not. My back is KILLING me right now but i feel on top of the world. NO MORE JUMPSTARING!!!
I started this morning around 11am and got done @ 6PM
Yanked out the old battery:
Big empty hole:
Close up off the ground to chasis:
Out with the old and in with the new: (high output: 180 Amps)
New alt installed:
Didnt mount it yet but left it there to make sure it works, 2nd battery:
It wasnt really a problem sending power to both it was the carpc draining the battery while the car was off that caused everything to go nuts. But starting the car was never a problem.

You should use one of the power supplies from here and it shouldn't be an issue. I use the P1900 with the CNX-P5V for my mac and it powers the monitor/usb/computer. Never had an issue. Starts up with the car and safely shuts down after turning the car off within a minute. Its hooked up with the ignition. Best investment you can do.
Curry..call me if you have any questions about it. Maybe we can still hook up this weekend just give me a ring.
Yea, the funny thing is it turns out that the only reason the battery drained so fast was becuase that week that I had left for vacation the battery was completely drained. And over time it just got really ****ty, there was also some serious damage to the terminals for some reason or another. The power supply that I use is an M2-ATX 180 watt supply. But I dont think i'll be needing both of them anymore so just one may be fine and dandy.
But I did test it out and the pc can run for about 2 hours with the car off, which is great.
Yea I'll try to give you a shout this weekend and see whats up. My alternator is still bugging out on me so im working on that right now.

ok thats what i need, seems simpler than setting up a tank battery.
I spent the last two days rewiring the car after installing the other stuff. I also installed the battery tray. Cleaned up lots of the wiring, made it look neater.
