I was reading my dog eared copy of R&T and read a article that mentioned road rallies. One partically caught my attention. A timed road rally! Where a driver and navigator must travel to different rally points on a map at a set time. For instance if it takes 35 min to leave a spot in DC and arrive at Camden Yards in Baltimore at some what legal speed U have to be at that spot within a 5 minute window. Then on to the next checkpoint. I think this would be great for a meet at say at Atlantic City. Depending on if Lexfest occurs there or not. Have 4 or 5 checkpoints for gruops leaving from different areas on a map. Say NY guys have thier on timing and checkpoints, DC area guys have a different time and checkpoints culmunating in arrival for all at AC at say 2pm but must be there at time specified window. 1 closer to time wins a prize or lapdance or a ride in Cats Mercedes GL. Just a thought. Opinions?

P.S. I am bored and I already listened to all of 15,000 mp3's on my Ipod.

also who would be at the checkpoints to make sure people dont skip them? this sounds cool, like a mini version of the bullrun.

 

I am sure it will take alot of thought and planning into this. Checkpoints can be anywhere, lets say the lobby of a hotel or gas station. Hell if you can call from a payphone and check in and hopefully caller ID will confirm your presence at the particular place. Hmmmm? could be very interesting.

 

This could be a really cool idea. If this was planned properly I bet we could get some other forums involved and make it a pretty big thing.
