well, i've always been thinking about having a drift car... but i obviously don't plan on drifting in my automatic GS4 with stock suspension haha
i've been thinking about a 240. i don't know much about the car, but i do know it's great for drifting, other than an old school AE Trueno. Parts and mods for the 240 are cheaper (than that of lexus parts n mods)...
but anyone know what year I should look for? OH, and another thing... i'm not experienced in driving stick so you think it would be better to look for a stock manual 240, practice a bit, and then kill the clutch and everything so that i have some reason to go get a SR20?
what would be first mods - suspension, then LSD, then...? the engine i guess? thoughts? suggestions?
basics of having a drift car? i heard its good to keep a bunch of spare tires and rims to mess around with them.
You're on the right track. Year isn't really important, so either S13 or S14 is a good idea. LSD, Suspension, and a nice fat set of tires would be a great start, then go for the SR20. Definitely beat on the stock tranny/clutch setup first before you upgrade. Gut the interior too and have some fun.
hey jt my friends and i are actually doing going to be doing the same thing over the next couple years. we are planning to get a 240 since we are all either former or current owners and have ton of spare parts, even a spare sr. I would say you should start out with the stock ka engine and maybe swap in a lsd from a q45 or na 300zx.
are selling one of those shells that was in the garage? the new IS shell?
We are selling two IS 300 bodies in white that are still crated in our shop. We do have an IS 350 that is gutted with a roll cage though if thats what your're asking. Yeah its for sale to.
