WOW. Look what came today!
From what I have read about them and heard, they get extremely loud without much power. They're rated at around 600 watts but I've heard that people push them 1200 watts.
They right near the w7 from JL or IDMAX 12 from Image Dynamics. Orignally I had planned to get an IDMAX but after hearing about these 18's I said I'd give it a shot.
The SQ is also supposed to be pretty good, not the best, but pretty good for 18's.
They also claim that this sub can get 5.5 db's louder @ 10hz than other subs that were tested. I'm still busy working on the enclosures for them. I'm installing them in sealed fiberglass enclosures in each side well of the trunk, and powering them off a 1200 watt amp @ 1 ohm. 0 and 4 guage wire all around, and probably a dedicated battery. I should be done with construction by mid september, or if i get more time then before that, im pushing for the end of august.
Here are the sub specs:
Sealed ( small ) 2.2 ( 62 L )
Sealed ( ideal ) 2.5 ( 70 L )
Sealed ( large ) 3.0 ( 85L )

LOL @ the cat
This is what I have planned for my amp rack so far...

Nine1 in the center and nine2's on each side... 2 amps for interior 1 for sub
My original plan was to first cut an MDF board for each amp then position them and use pieces of MDF to hold them up and for the gaps in the middle use some fleece and the fiberglass the gaps.
I'd use supports to connect the amps together so its like one piece. I would have to tune the amps before mounting them of course, unless I mount them a little lower instead of standing them up all the way... that way if i need to make adjustments it wont be a headache. Input is welcome, if you want the original image to photoshop some ideas OR you want a better pic of the trunk just let me know.
I'm still brainstorming and nothing is final. I'm aiming to have the rack removable IF at all possible. I may have to finish both my sub enclosures in order to fit the rack correctly and build it correctly....
