Default Just a Thought

One of the things that I noticed while scrolling around inm some of the other sites is that they seem to be a little more organized. It's all good though because I know we are really just getting starfted. One thing that I would loike to suggest would be a central treasury fund to cover expenses, insurance, food, etc for organized meets. Each member makes donations to the fund, and when orgasnized events, promotions etc come up then the money will be there. Now to keep it fair for everyone, I propose that every member contribute to the community fund for the purpose of meets, and meet expenses. Set up a separate fund/acct in order to collect money for things like shirts, promotional items, etc. in which members can contribute on an "on call basis" and the money can be tracked. That way no one has a gripe about contributing more than the next member. Community fund for the benefit of every club member, no squabbles about I did more, you did less. The other acct set on pay as you go basis for specific purchases. I believe that you can set both of these up through paypal and that way it will be easier to collect the money from everyone. Just need someone to volunteer to monitor these accts and be responsible for the incoming money. Just a thought, let me know what you think.

Was just a suggestion to help with organization, so that we could operate with a little less confusion. IE.. "who do we send money to in order to get this??" and "who's bringing what??" I am a big sponsor of free meeting places but even thouogh this is a club and the idea is for everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves, to a degree, we must also conduct ourselves as a business in order to be really successful. Like I said, this was just an organizational suggestion. Appreciate your opinion though. NELOC!!!! HOLLA IF YA HEAR ME!!!!!!!

I agree... but we are just starting... I have several ideas for the club. I am still new to the MD area and I have plenty on my plate as far as my new career and family. After meeting the crew I feel that this could be the foundation of something big. I will be getting with Cherp, Sun and GSoup soon to see their visions and what I could do to help put things in place. SELOC seems to have their game tight but....it all takes time.

That's my point exactly, I know we are still new, just thought I could offer my 2 cents in the way of organization. By the way welcome to MD. Where you located?? I myself am in Baltimore, when I am there. Iknow that with my job right now, I can't attend too many meets, however would still like to contribute in any way that I can.

I think it is a good idea. Before I joined this club in 2004, I used to browse Lexus Owners Club (USA) back in 2001. That forum required a fee to join, I guess to cover whatever expenses for meets, sponsorships etc. Found out about this forum in 2004 via google search, and discovered it was free to join. This forum is an oulet for us to discover more about our cars. This forum is a valuable asset to us all. Nothing in this world is free. I am sure as Lexus owners, we can contribute some dollars to the organizers for our mini meets to cover food, permits (if applicable) any arrangements that require $$$. I know I paid money out of my own pockets for food etc for meets. I will leave it to the mods to come up with a plan for NELOC. Just wanted to give my 2 cents.

I am in, I was thinking of Modding my Ford Ranger and make it into a NELOC Lexus Ranger that way it can be used to carry gear and goods to local meets. I say local because I would not trust driving it over 50 miles. LOL. I think it's a great idea.
