EPB Not Releasing

EPB Not Releasing
2010 LS460
My epb now does not release when taking the shifter out of park. By moving the switch off auto the brake is released. I don't see any malfunction notice.
I'm sure this is not uncommon and must be a sensor or switch on the transmission linkage.
Can someone tell me about this so maybe I can fix it?
