I just had AutoZone pull a P0132 trouble code on my 95 ES300. They said the PCM has determined that the input voltage from O2 sensor 1 in bank 1 is too high for current operating conditions. Should I just replace the O2 Sensor or could I have another problem? If so what should I look for? Also is bank 1 towards the front of the car which is easy to access?
I've never seen this code before, but I will check into this. Bank 1 on the ES is located toward the firewall, but you have to get to the O2 sensor from the top. Put some fender cover on the driver side and you can reach to the sensor. Disconnect the connector first and use the box end of 22 mm wrench to loose it up.
I just looked in the Lexus repair manual, there is no code P0132, are you sure about the code. It list P0130 as Heated O2 sensor circuit malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 1 and P0133 Heated O2 circuit slow respone Bank Sensor 1.
Hmm, that was the code that AutoZone pulled for me. They gave me a print out too. I guess I can
stop by again to make sure they typed the right number into the computer. I see that code does exist for other cars. Could they just have forgoten to list it?
I don't think Lexus forgot to put the code in manaul. You can ask them to do the O2 RPM check and see the wave form of the sensor. The good working O2 sensor should respone between 0.01 to 0.09 volt. The bad O2 problem is very common on the older Lexus vehicle, but make sure you get the OEM because the aftermarket sensor you will have to cut the wires to fit the OEM connector. Good luck.
