Preemptive
Dealing with Covid boredom, one thing I do is shop for car stuff. I decided that a hydrometer was "needed". Turns out one cell in my battery was almost to the "replace" level. It's a 2013 LS 460 with a AAA replacement battery. The previous owner put it in 6/17. Thanks to members here, I have the mindset to replace a battery BEFORE there are any issues. Does anyone else here bother with hydrometer or load testing their battery randomly? Pep Boys has a 25% off sale on batteries making it a better deal than Costco, and free installation in 80 degree heat. I also get to use my cigarette lighter battery backup (I bought a couple of months ago due to boredom) so no electronic issues from a disconnected battery. I feel I got lucky finding the potential issue, a sale price and using two new "toys" at the same time.
